May Release Notes Rollup - Everything from 4.1.0 to 4.3.0

We’ve had a busy May, adding new capabilities to Fairwinds Insights, Kubernetes security, policy, and governance software. There are some great new features and additional functionality from each release this month, which we’ve broadly outlined below.

If you require continuous Kubernetes security monitoring, policy enforcement, and the ability to govern compliance and optimize costs, try Insights.

Fairwinds Insights 4.1.0 - 4.3.0 includes some great new capabilities, including:

  • 4.3.0 Custom notifications using automation rules - Fairwinds Insights now enables you to add custom Slack webhook URLs to send custom messages to the slack environment of your choice. Learn more.
  • 4.2.0 Vulnerabilities UI - This new UI helps you dig into vulnerable images running in your cluster. To use this feature, click the Vulnerabilities tab in the navigation bar. You can also now check and write rules based on resources labels and annotations when creating an automation rule. This release also adds SHA hash to CI script, implementing integrity checking in our CI/CD instructions. Please update your Insights CI/CD feature.
  • 4.1.0 Installation codes for self-hosted (Beta) - Insights is now available for you to host on your own infrastructure. Please contact us if you want to try it out. Learn more about self-hosted Insights. The 4.1.0 release also now allows you to create tickets in Jira using the “Create Tickets” button at the top of the Action Items table. Learn more about this capability. You can also easily install the Insights Agent across a large fleet of clusters using a single helm install command.

If you want to learn more about self-hosted Fairwinds Insights, which is an easier way to audit your Kubernetes infrastructure, we have a lot more information in this post.
