Fairwinds Named a Cool Vendor in the Gartner® Cool Vendors™ in Container Management

I’m very pleased and proud to announce that Fairwinds has been named in the 2023 Gartner Cool Vendor™ in Container Management report! We believe this is an honor for the entire Fairwinds team and a credit to the hard work our team has put into understanding the role that containers play in large and complex application deployments, particularly as enterprises scale up their use of Kubernetes.

Every year, Gartner reviews startups in the cloud native space, focusing on offerings that provide innovative solutions to address the challenges enterprises experience when managing diverse application deployments in multiple locations. Published on August 3, 2023, the Cool Vendors™ in Container Management report was written by Dennis Smith, Arun Chandrasekaran, and Tony Iams. Five startups were included in this Cool Vendors report, and we believe the inclusion of Fairwinds shows our dedication to helping platform teams enable developers to develop and deliver apps and services more quickly, securely, and affordably by enabling policy enforcement through Kubernetes governance.

Container Management is Cool

Why? Container adoption continues to grow rapidly, while container management remains a challenge. According to the Cool Vendors report, “Gartner has seen an increase of more than 20% over the past year in client interactions involving container technology. Gartner inquiries reveal that enterprises are not only adopting containers but also often struggling to manage the deployments. This is particularly so for deployments that span multiple public cloud environments and/or on-premises deployments.”

While Kubernetes offers an efficient way to manage workloads, managing the cost, reliability, and security of Kubernetes and containers can be quite challenging, because none of these capabilities are enabled by default. And as container adoption grows, enterprises need container management platforms and Kubernetes expertise to deploy successfully in hybrid and multi cloud environments. Fairwinds Insights addresses the struggles enterprises encounter by automatically identifying issues and providing remediation advice. Increasingly, platform teams are looking for ways to implement standards, enforce development best practices, and enable developers to self-service. Insights makes it easy for them to achieve these goals, thereby enabling development to increase velocity and accelerate revenue generation.

How Fairwinds Insights Supports Enterprises

The complexities of container management and Kubernetes itself are why we created Kubernetes guardrails to help platform teams drive consistency and standardization in their deployments. We believe that Gartner’s recognition of the importance of supporting container management validates our efforts. We are committed to continuing our innovation to help platform teams make it easier for developers to develop apps and services more quickly, securely, and affordably using containers and Kubernetes.

We appreciate the inclusion of Fairwinds in this year’s Cool Vendor in Container Management report, and we see it as a recognition by industry experts of the need for solutions that enable security, reliability, and cost management.
