1. Job Description

Fairwinds is seeking an entrepreneurial, intellectually curious, collaborative and flexible individual to join as our VP of Marketing and lead our current marketing team in our next phase of growth.

As our VP of Marketing you will be on the leadership team and report to the CEO. We are looking for someone who will be hands on, as well as provide strategic leadership. You will work closely with our VP of Sales to build and manage our pipeline and ensure tight alignment across the sales and marketing process. And, you’ll collaborate with our VP of Product Strategy on product launches, product-market fit and positioning.

This is your chance to shape the direction of an early stage company in a very hot space (cloud native infrastructure), build and manage a remote team, and derive joy from being an integral part of a great organization.

2. About you...

  • You have 3-5 years as a VP or Director with 8+ years of proven success in SaaS marketing consisting of B2B demand generation via inbound and outbound methods.

  • You’re a self-motivated and directed leader who inspires your team, embraces teaching opportunities, and provides constructive coaching and meaningful, stretching challenges. You have built, managed and coached a high-performing marketing team. You know how to hire and manage performance.

  • You have a track record in digital marketing strategy and tactics to drive conversion; and a deep understanding of synergies between SEO, content marketing, online media, lead generation, and other inbound marketing tactics, as well as website design and development. You know marketing operations and how to implement a closed loop system to measure the impact of different forms of marketing on lead generation

  • You have proven an ability to create a modern, high-impact, and differentiated brand across all market channels including company website, blogs, field events, sales training, social media, etc.

  • You possess strong analytical and research skills – you understand and know how to implement marketing KPIs, define the market and competitive landscape, and develop detailed plans to measure target market performance
  • You’re an amazing communicator. You listen, and your written, oral, and visual communication is clear, concise, and tuned carefully to your audience.

  • You have familiarity with Hubspot and other online marketing and sales platforms.

  • You know your stuff and are a creative problem solver. You can think your way through complex issues, have a keen eye for details, and talk about it all confidently, accurately, and honestly.

  • You’re organized, communicative, and accountable—you own your role entirely, while being open to critique, suggestions, and new ideas.

  • You have a B.A. or B.S. degree (an M.B.A. is a plus)
