Finca Kotowa, Panama

Pete Rogers and Finca Kotowa owner Ricardo, first agreed to implement Community Aid projects on this farm in 1998.

In 2004, approximately $9,000 Community Aid funds were spent to upgrade all electrical wiring at the facility and at the house, rebuild all common areas with roofs and concrete floors, continued the weekly doctors visits program, and continued the meal programs at the farm.  The 2005 plan is to build a new shower and bathroom area.

In 2003 a medical clinic was built, weekly doctor visits were underwritten, and meal programs received support.

In 2002 $5,000 of Community Aid maintained existing meal and medical programs. Ricardo and Pete Rogers agreed that two worker houses needed serious renovation and Community Aid paid $3,000 for their rebuilding.

In 2001 the existing medical and meal programs received funding. In addition, Community Aid supplied almost $10,000 to pay for labor and materials needed to build new worker housing.

The work's initial phase during 1999 and 2000 saw $12,000 spent on housing repairs and upgrades, setting up a preventative health and medical education campaign, building a social area with sinks and a kitchen, and making arrangements to provide clothing, medicine and various supplies throughout the crop year.
